History
The Fiddler's Companion says that this is a New England composition by New Hampshire fiddler Al Quigley, but the entry in the Session vehemently claim that it is Scottish, written by John Morehead (Moorhead/Muirhead?) c1800, and called "Speed The Plow". After careful listening to the various abc files available, I am inclined to disagree - unless they have gotten their hands on a very different rendition than that in FC. The correct tune, however, is listed there as Batchelder's Reel. As a result, I have amended the AKAs to match that in FC, fixed the link for The Session to the correct one, and have removed the offending tunes from the var-file.
On the other hand, the tune sounds more like a Hornpipe than a Reel to my ears...
